What is the ROI on executive coaching? Read this
What is executive coaching?
- Executive coaching is a complementary process to traditional development programmes which have taken the form of training days. In other words some clients can choose to go the coaching route instead of the traditional training route. This is an effective way to ensure longer term development. Ideally corporations would use both training and coaching systems i.e. they deal both with individual and systemic change.
What is the scope executive coaching?
- As a rule it is professionally oriented, but personal issues inevitably arise as they are so intrinsically linked to one's professional life. It almost always involves strategy and goal setting. It is tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
Does the coach give definite direction?
What format does it take?
- In some ways it can represent a mini training programme e.g. leadership training, but it can also be very "loose" in terms of questions and answers. As a coach I will generally start off with a structured approach (based on agreed objectives) and then address any issues the executive chooses to raise during the session/s. This can sometimes lead to an informal type discussion, but the executive is ultimately the one who decides that.
How many sessions do I need?
- We recommend a longer term approach. We work on a retainer basis and then enter into an “always available” system, along with some regular preset sessions.
How confidential are the sessions?
- All sessions are kept in the strictest confidence. An individual client will not be taken on if companies insist on private feedback without explicit agreement from the client. This confidence is also adhered to within WorkSmart Australia i.e. fellow WorkSmart Australia staff are not entitled to know any detail of the sessions.
